Fisher House

Located on the campus of the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, FL, Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.

College Scholarships

Students from military families have received college scholarships through the Military Officers' Wives Club, the MacDill AFB Officers Spouses Club, and the Hillsborough County Education Foundation, all supported by the Friends of U.S. Military Families.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation

This organization provides college scholarships to the children of Special Operations warriors who have paid the ultimate price in combat.

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)

The Friends of U.S. Military Families, LLC, has provided scholarship funding to students from all branches of the Armed Forces who are preparing for medical careers in the military.


The TAMCO Foundation is a 501 (3) (C) non-profit, non-partisan charity which provides direct support to military veterans of Florida who have been severely wounded and disabled in the service of our nation.

Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)

Through Operation Helping Hand, a project of the Tampa Chapter of MOAA, the families of wounded and injured warriors recovering in Tampa receive financial assistance, transportation and comfort.

Support Our Troops "Operation Gratitude"

Operation Gratitude annually sends more than 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to veterans, first responders, wounded warriors and their care givers.
